This site is primarily for people from Charleston, South Australia and surrounds to notify their immediate needs if they have been affected by a major emergency incident affecting them so they can be safe and functional.
It will also provide a place for people or organisations to offer to donate items identified as needed by the Charleston Emergency Response & Recovery Group (CERRG) in the event that a major emergency impacts the community.
It will also provide an opportunity for people to nominate an area of expertise to offer to volunteer their time or skills to help out in the event of a major emergency affecting Charleston and surrounds.
Supporting Resilient Communities and the Recovers.org platform does not handle any monetary donations on behalf of communities.
Charleston Community Centre Incorporated
The Charleston Emergency Response and Recovery Group (CERRG) is a sub committee of the Charleston Community Centre Inc.
The purpose of the CERRG is as a Community Support Hub that can provide support in the immediate aftermath of a major emergency impacting the Charleston community and surrounding areas, or as otherwise requested by authorities such as local, state or federal government.
We have a well set up hall with emergency response facilities and capacity.
In the event of activating our CERRG, a red flag will be displayed on our flagpole out the front of the hall, indicating we are open to help.
